Tariff points

We use UCAS Tariff points to advertise the entry requirements for most of our courses. UCAS awards points for most qualifications, based on the breadth and depth of study involved — this allows us to consider a wide range of qualifications in a fair and transparent way.

For example, to achieve 96 UCAS Tariff points, you could have:

  • 3 A-levels at grades CCC
  • A BTEC Extended Diploma at grade MMM
  • A CACHE Diploma at grade C
  • T Level (Full T level achieved) at grade P (A*-C)

...or a combination of various qualifications.

To check how many UCAS Tariff points you have, you can use the calculator on the UCAS website. Click the button below to get started!

Applying as an International Student

International students applying for Undergraduate (UG) and taught postgraduate (PG) programmes can apply using the appropriate 'Apply Now' button on the course page.

International students applying for a Postgraduate teacher training programme must apply through the Department for Education (DfE) Apply system. More information on how to apply can be found here. Please be assured that you do not need to have a health and physical capacity assessment or UK DBS check before applying. Should you be successful in being offered a place with us, you will be contacted with more information about this.

If you require a Student Route visa to study in the UK, you will typically be required to sit a Secure English Language Test (SELT). For all of our courses, we require a level of English that is equivalent to an overall IELTS score of B2 or above to meet minimum UKVI requirements, however this can vary per level of course. We realise that you may have very different English Language qualifications to IELTS, or want to know what alternatives we accept, so please check our website for the most up to date information. If you need more information, please email if you’d like any further clarification: international@lincolnbishop.ac.uk

Contextual Offers and alternative qualifications

That’s why we’re proud to offer a contextual admissions process, enabling us to make flexible offers that consider your background, achievements, challenges and personal circumstances.

We can now make achievable offers to those who have faced disadvantages in their lives by reducing the UCAS tariff points required for undergraduate courses, giving people who might not otherwise have been able to pursue their desire of a university degree a chance to do so.

Contextual Offers

We do realise that life experience, especially so for some of our courses, is crucial and we don’t underestimate that. It may be that we ask you to come and talk to a member of academic staff or complete a written assignment in lieu of a qualification.

Every application is looked at very seriously, so please do speak to us if you’re unsure – we wouldn’t want you to miss out on the experience of studying at Lincoln Bishop!
